Course Description:

Higher education finance extends far beyond accounting and budgets. This introductory seminar provides a practical overview of the financial and administrative responsibilities of today's college business officer, emphasizing the strategic partnership between finance and the academic mission. Participants will explore institutional funding sources, budgeting models, grants, foundation funds, online revenue, human resources, academic affairs, scholarships, information technology, risk management, and strategic decision-making. Through real-world examples and interactive discussion, attendees will learn how financial decisions support faculty, staff, students, and institutional priorities while balancing compliance, stewardship, and innovation.
