Biography:

Dr. Monique Carroll is a seasoned intercollegiate athletics administrator with over 15 years of experience, currently serving as the Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Chicago State University (CSU). She serves on the President’s cabinet overseeing 16 NCAA Division I sports programs and leading several strategic initiatives, including CSU’s acceptance into the Northeast Conference (NEC), a multi-million fundraising campaign for FCS Division I Football, and expanding corporate partnerships.

A proud HBCU graduate and former NCAA Division I multi-sport student-athlete, Dr. Carroll attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Health and Physical Education. She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy and a Doctorate in Education from Northcentral University, where her dissertation focused on athletic donor motivations at HBCUs.

Before joining CSU, Dr. Carroll led athletics programs at Huston-Tillotson University, where she secured major sponsorships, including a four-year Adidas partnership, and held leadership roles at South Carolina State University and Prairie View A&M University, driving record-breaking fundraising and revenue growth.

Dr. Carroll is actively engaged in collegiate athletics governance and is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. She uses her platform to advocate for minority-serving institutions, diversity, equity, and inclusion in sports, and equitable access to education through athletics. Committed to student-athlete success, Dr. Carroll’s leadership focuses on academic excellence, athletic achievement, and community engagement as she continues to shape the future of CSU Athletics.
