Sean Childers is the Associate Vice President for Operations at Texas Tech University (TTU). With deep passion and commitment to support the academic and research enterprise of TTU, Sean provides oversight, leadership and inspiration for over 520 employees in the following departments within the Operations Division: Facilities Maintenance, Grounds Maintenance, Transportation and Parking, Planning and Design, Construction and Engineering, Capital Planning and Administration, Utilities, Space and Resource Management, Services and the Employee Success Center. To Sean, leadership is about creating the vision and energy for employees to feel empowered and engaged to focus on their assigned work so the university operations run uninterrupted while creating partners for success across the university and beyond.
Sean started his career with TTU over 30 years ago and was appointed to his current role in 2014. He is an Alumnus of TTU receiving both his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Master of Agriculture degrees from the university. Sean is a keen supporter of education, not only within the university but also as a key advocate for professional development for his team members. He currently serves on multiple boards and committees within the university, state and nationally.
