Shane Tedder is the Director of Facilities Services and Sustainability at the University of Kentucky. Shane has more than two decades of professional experience in higher education. He started his career with UK Facilities Management in 2009 as the University's first Sustainability Officer and has been a member of the FM Leadership team for almost 17 years. In 2022, his duties expanded to include trucking, waste, recycling, and facilities support of campus events. In 2025, Facilities Management added a Communication and Strategic Engagement team and placed this team under Shane's direction. Most recently, Shane was given responsibility for UK's Key Shop when that unit transitioned to Facilities Management from Administrative Services. In his work as the University's Sustainability Officer, Shane continues to work as an enterprise-wide asset leading efforts to align UK's activities and operations with a set of five guiding principles. As a member of Facilities Management's leadership team, Shane works closely with the directors of Planning Design and Construction, Utilities and Energy Management, Maintenance and Operations, and others to ensure strategic and coordinated delivery of these critical services to the University of Kentucky as it pursues its mission to advance the commonwealth of Kentucky.
