Tristan currently serves as Senior Director, Financial Operations and Strategic Risk Management at Columbia University. In this role he is responsible for monitoring and assessing operational risk posed in University processes and procedures and developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies for activities involving operations that span the University. Prior to his current role, Tristan served as Director of International Risk Management at Columbia, where he was responsible for managing the full spectrum of risks posed by Columbia's operations -- and to it's affiliates engaged in University-related travel -- abroad.
Before joining Columbia, Tristan served as a Special Agent with the U.S. Department of State, with long-term assignments in Yemen, Afghanistan, and Israel. He has BA from Kansas State University; JD from the University of Kansas; and MA from Columbia.
